While the location is decent, the experience was marked by a few red flags. My room, facing south, was damp and had walls teeming with mold. Despite the air conditioning remote displaying 18°C, the actual temperature soared above 30°C, creating an uncomfortable stay. I inquired about changing rooms but received resistance, and the electric fan provided was faulty—far from ideal for a hot summer. On the brighter side, the staff was friendly, particularly at reception, where they spoke good English and facilitated a taxi to my next destination. The occasional helpfulness was appreciated; however, simple tasks like refreshing towels and toilet paper required prompting. The bar and lounge area provided a backdrop for socializing, yet lacking options to refresh the drink menu meant it was often quiet. With improved room maintenance, better management of resources, and a focus on customer comfort, Jelsominohotel could appeal more successfully to budget-conscious guests seeking value alongside a hint of character. I rate my experience a modest 3 out of 10. It’s worth considering whether the nostalgia of this old hotel compensates for its shortcomings.
